UK sets out stall as battery leader with $320m research push

The UK today set out its stall as a world leader in battery technology to help integrate rising levels of generation from renewables.

UK energy secretary Greg Clark launched the first phase of a £246m ($320m) government investment into battery technology to ensure that the UK “builds on its strengths and leads the world” in the design, development and manufacture of batteries.
