The US Department of Energy (DOE) will provide $46.2m in funding for 48 PV projects as part of its SunShot Initiative, a sign the agency under President Donald Trump will continue support for at least one renewable energy research effort begun by his predecessor.
The projects are intended to develop innovative, early-state solar power technologies, which are aimed at lowering costs, and improving reliability and efficiency.
