Global clean-energy investment bounced back in the second quarter of 2017 following several weak performances of late, boosted by a resurgence of deals in China and the US – as well as the growing importance of countries better known for their oil industries.

All told, $64.8bn was invested in clean energy projects and companies in the second quarter, more than 95% of it going to solar and wind, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
