Even the renewables industry itself seems surprised at just how well everything is going these days in the US.

It’s been more than six months since Donald Trump was elected president, and the American wind and solar sectors are taking stock. Last week many of the industry’s leading figures gathered in Manhattan to discuss the state of play, and the mood often bordered on buoyant – although a collective sense of caution would then creep back into the room, a sense that in today’s environment the other shoe could drop at any time.
