A group of European industry bodies and companies have lined up behind Make Power Clean, an initiative urging the EU to turn the screw on "the most polluting" generation sources when shaping a new electricity market.
Renewables industry bodies WindEurope and SolarPower Europe were among those backing the launch of the initiative, which is in effect an anti-coal alliance set up to support the European Commission’s (EC's) plans for a 550g CO2/kWh carbon criterion for future capacity mechanisms.
