Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas plans to increasingly venture into hybrid solutions that link electricity storage and/or solar to wind power, in order to become the “global leader in sustainable energy”, chief executive Anders Runevad said.

While wind will continue to be the OEM’s core activity, Vestas wants to make sure it interacts with different sources of generation and storage in order to integrate more wind power into the system and improve grid stability, the CEO said during the launch of the company’s new 4MW turbines.
