The EU and UK urgently need to strike a deal that avoids damaging their closely-entwined energy markets after Brexit, said European electricity association Eurelectric, which wants transitional arrangements on key issues.
Eurelectric claimed the development of the EU’s internal energy market has brought “significant benefits” across the bloc, including the more efficient integration of renewable power, and urged political leaders to make energy a high priority in the Brexit negotiations that formally began this week.
