The US government has begun auditing loans made several years ago by the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) to huge Chilean solar projects built by American solar companies, including First Solar, SunPower and SunEdison, news agency Reuters reports.
OPIC is the US government’s development finance institution, and has helped US renewables companies – particularly in the solar sector – gain toeholds in emerging markets.
