New UK government figures show public support for renewables has reached a new high, with 79% of those polled in a Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (DBEIS) survey supporting development of the country’s clean energy resources and only 4% opposed.

Support for onshore wind has reached 73%, offshore wind 80%, and wave and tidal 79%, according to the DBEIS ‘Wave 21’ Energy and Climate Change Public Attitude Tracker.
