The precipitous drop in the cost of offshore wind energy, which reached ‘zero-subsidy’ levels at awards at the recent German tender, must be mirrored in energy policy proposals currently being mulled by the European Commission, if Europe is to deliver competitively priced power for its citizens and businesses, the chief executive of industry advocacy body WindEurope said today.
