The first off the mark was Ireland’s Imera, which boldly declared its intention to build two grids -- one across the North Sea, and one stretching further south in Europe.
By Imera own estimate both grids will cost in excess of €4bn -- not an easy sell, even with a raft of stimulus packages to flesh out. Irema is currently attempting to raise €100m for the first phase of investment.
