Five of 11 planned E-126 turbines are in operation at the facility operated by Dutch-Belgian developer WindVision. As part of the project, Enercon plans to test the huge turbines at progressively higher power levels, with a view to raising their capacity to 7MW.

EU Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs, who visited the wind farm near the town of Mons in Wallonia on 25 November, describes the E-126 as one of the “best-developed options” to increase the exploitation of European wind resources while enhancing energy security at an affordable cost.
