The expansion programme of its existing Arnhem, Netherlands facility will allow high-power short-circuit testing at the 800kV-plus level DNV KEMA says equipment-makers are increasingly looking to serve.

David Walker, chief executive of DNV KEMA, says factors such as future transmission networks that span huge distances, and the growing number of equipment-makers supplying high-voltage components, makes pre-deployment testing a major issue.

Such networks will play a key role in efficiently moving renewable power from remote generation areas to demand centres.
