An all-party group of 107 UK Members of Parliament has called for swift government support for plans for a £1.3bn ($1.6bn) tidal lagoon across Swansea Bay in South Wales, following the 30 recommendations of an independent review led by former energy minister Charles Hendry last month.

In a letter to UK energy secretary Greg Clark, the chair of the All-Party Group for Marine Energy and Tidal Lagoons, Richard Graham MP, writing on behalf of the 107 MPs, points out that Hendry started his review as a sceptic and ended it as an enthusiast for the 320MW Swansea Bay pathfinder project.
