The plant will soon bear the Astronergy name

Chinese PV-maker Astronergy has finalised its purchase of the former Conergy module plant in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany.

The deal, which was first announced late last month, will save 210 jobs out of the total of 280 employed at the factory by the insolvent German PV group, it was confirmed today.

The operation will now trade as Astronergy Solarmodule.

Astronergy, owned by diversified Chinese industrial group Chint, is aggressively expanding its role within the global PV industry. In addition to rapidly boosting its module production in China, Astronergy is expected to rank among the world’s five largest solar EPC companies this year.
