Hanwha SolarOne, one of the PV units of Korea’s Hanwha Group, supplied 8.2MW of modules to the Schlechtenberg solar park in Bavaria.

The plant, developed by AIC Projects, began operations last month.

Both Hanwha and the developer said it had become more difficult to obtain permits and finance in Germany for projects of the size of Schlechtenberg.

“Financial conditions for large-scale solar projects in Germany have become extremely challenging, and as a consequence, streamlined project planning and execution are absolutely crucial to secure profitability,” says Matthias Gerhardt, head of project development at AIC Projects.
