German PV group Conergy is building a 2MW solar plant in the Slobozia region of Romania for a group of local private investors.
Conergy will act as
project manager for the project as well as supply its
components, the company said.
The installation will be
operated via a power purchase agreement, and initially entitle the owners to
about 16,200 green certificates per year for the about 2.7GWh its
8,000 modules are expected to produce annually.
“The Romanian solar market
has a great growth potential for the future and the government has ambitious
targets for the build-up of renewable energies,” says Conergy board member
Alexander Gorski, adding that large solar plants will play an increasing role
in meeting Romania’s growing energy needs.
Conergy in January entered Romania with a first 2.2MW solar park.
