Conergy supplies 15MW to UK projects

Conergy continues to push aggressively out of its domestic German market

German PV group Conergy says it is in the final stages of commissioning four ground-mounted solar parks in the UK totalling more than 15MW, as developers across Britain race to complete projects in advance of an incentive reduction on 1 April.

The projects, being built for Spain’s Solaer using Conergy’s P-Series modules, are located in Somerset, Devon and Buckinghamshire.

Conergy maintains a leading position within the UK market, having built the country’s first 5MW array several years ago in Nottinghamshire, which was refinanced last year by RBS.

From 1 April large PV arrays in the UK will receive 1.6 Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs), down from the current 2 ROCs, in a degression which some developers say will temporarily slow the market.
