Chen Deming says negotiations could limit the damage on both sides

China wants to negotiate with the EU in the growing row over solar panel imports.

The call for talks by Commerce Minister Chen Deming follows allegations by European companies that Chinese manufacturers are selling the panels in the EU below their market value.

Chen urges EU politicians and companies to negotiate to avoid greater losses on both sides.

“We hope to address the dispute through negotiations between Chinese and European companies and boost our industrial co-operation and seek third-party markets,” he says. Negotiations “should join our hands to tide through the difficult times for exploring greater market shares”.
