Greentech joins Foresight for US PV

The JV hopes to invest in an initial 100MW

Danish renewables developer and operator Greentech Energy plans to expand into the US solar sector, after signing a joint venture agreement with a UK investment group.

Greentech and Foresight Group formed the JV with the plan to invest in an initial 100MW of US PV capacity.

Greentech will own 51% of the venture with Foresight – which already has solar interests around the world – owning the rest.

The Danish group currently owns wind, solar and bioenergy assets in European countries including Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain, as well as its home market.

The two partners will consider investments in operational solar projects as well as those under development.
