London-based PV investor Bluefield Partners has acquired a 4.1MW array on a Toyota factory site from Centrica, as interest in the UK market continues to surge among European renewables investors.

The plant, in Derbyshire, was built by British Gas Solar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centrica, one of the UK’s “big six” power utilities. No financial terms were disclosed.

“Bluefield is working closely with British Gas Solar to continue funding solar energy installations for major industrial energy users in 2013,” says Mike Rand, a partner at Bluefield.

Since being founded in 2009, Bluefield has acquired more than 40 PV systems across the UK, including £40m in closed transactions in the past 12 months.

Many of those projects are part of a long-running series of deals with Thames Water. In late Log in to read complete article.
