The Munich-based chemical group said sales at WackerPolysilicon were €250m ($338m) in the fourth quarter, 17% up on the same periodin 2012, while prices held steady.
As an EU producer, Wacker is in the clear from anti-dumping tariffsimposed by the Chinese on US polysilicon suppliers.
The polysilicon upswing helped Wacker to abetter-than-expected Q4 profit of €158m before interest, tax, depreciation andamortisation, 18% higher than a year earlier.
