The Hamburg-based company delivered a 62kW rooftop installation for self-consumption use at a facility for disabled people in Cape Town.

The 250 modules are expected to churn out some 97MWh of electricity a year at a cost of 0.81 rand ($0.09) per kWh.

That is 16% cheaper than the average 0.94 rand per kWh cost of electricity from South African utility Eskom, Conergy claims.
