EU commissioners backed a proposal be EU Trade Commissioner Karel de Gucht to levy provisional duties, Reuters reports, citing two unnamed officials, while the AFP agency was more specific, sayingthe Commission will impose a duty averaging 47%.
De Gucht's spokesman John Clancy said the commission won’t make any statement ahead of an official announcement it has to make by a June 5 deadline for a preliminary decision on tariffs.
