The recently-announced duties on Chinese equipment – which will take full effect from August – will dampen demand in the second half of the year, IHS claims.

Along with other factors such as reduced incentives in key markets, it predicts that the duties will contribute to a fall of more than 6GW in European PV additions.

However, global installations are still expected to grow by 11% year-on-year to 35GW thanks to surging demand in Asia.
