Although the move will not come as a shock to many observers of the company, it nevertheless marks the end of an era for one of the few surviving Europe-based PV manufacturers – and perhaps heralds the onset of a move away from vertical integration in the sector.
The Oslo-based REC Group will launch the two new entities – REC Solar and REC Silicon – as independent businesses with separate stock market listings.
