In 2010 the Czech government imposed a 26% tax on solar plants to curb a boom in the country, with the tax slated to expire at the end of this year.
However, the government's decision means the tax would remain in force, albeit at the lower rate of 10%.
The changes, agreed during an extraordinary Cabinet meeting late last week, are still subject to final approval by the Czech parliament.
