Europe will add 10.5GW of PV capacity this year, a nearly 50% decline on its record performance in 2011, according to market researcher NPD Solarbuzz.
Strong year-on-year growth in the UK, Austria and Romania this year could not offset sagging demand in places like France, Belgium and Greece.
But after “stabilising” at around 2.5GW of demand in early 2014, the European market will once again begin growing, following consecutive quarterly declines stretching back to early 2012.
