Japanese PV developer Renova will start building a 25.4MW solar plant on the island of Kyushu next week.

The project, in the town of Kokonoe, Oita prefecture, will be completed in May 2015.

A spokesperson for the Tokyo-based company declined to reveal which company will supply the PV modules.

Last month, it completed a 14MW ground-mount array east of Tokyo in Itako, Ibaraki prefecture. It expects to bring another 40MW solar project online this July in Futtsu, Chiba prefecture.

Renova specialises in solar projects above 20MW in size, and currently hopes to develop 300MW of PV capacity.
