Canadian Solar adds 30W in China

Canadian Solar has commissioned its first major utility-scale PV project in China, a 30MW ground-mount array in the western state of Xinjiang.

As of last November, Canadian Solar claimed a concrete pipeline of just 40MW in China, meaning that the completion of the Xinjiang project has nearly cleared its docket in the country where it does most of its manufacturing.

The company has also completed several dozens of megawatts of rooftop PV projects in China, and claims a much larger “soft” project pipeline in the country, suggesting earlier-stage projects for which no final decisions have yet been taken.
