Trina in 1GW China framework deal

Trina Solar has unveiled a framework agreement which could see it install 1GW of ground-mount PV capacity and establish a module factory in China’s western Xinjiang region over the next few years. 

The deal, signed with the local government of Turpan Prefecture, will see the arrays built in phases over a four-year time frame starting in early 2014, with a 300MW first phase slated for completion by the end of 2014.

Should that first phase receive all the necessary approvals, Trina will also proceed with a module factory of an undisclosed size in the area. 

The deal is by far the biggest for Trina’s downstream projects business to date, and underscores the huge role that China will play in bulking up the Log in to read complete article.
