Juwi adds third Japan PV plant

German renewables developer Juwi has just completed its third utility-scale PV plant in Japan with the launch of a 1.1MW project on the southern island of Kyushu.

The solar plant in Ozu, Kumamoto prefecture, features 4,480 modules.

The venture said it has more projects in the pipeline in Japan, and already operates two 1MW plants on the island of Kyushu.

Last week, Juwi opened a subsidiary in Dubai to build PV projects in the Middle East and North and East Africa.

Globally, the Wörrstadt-based company expects to bring 200MW-300MW of PV capacity on line this year.
