The PV plant will supply power to Mumbai

Indian renewables developer Welspun Energy has achieved financial close on a 20MW PV plant in Maharashtra.

The company said it has tied up 1.35bn rupees ($22.6m) of long-term project funding from “leading financial institutions” against a total project cost of 1.8bn rupees.

Welspun says the project in Solapur has an agreement with Brihan Mumbai Electric Supply & Transport to supply power from the plant to the city of Mumbai.
