JA ships modules for Siemens Israel plants

China’s JA Solar has commenced shipping 35MW of modules to Siemens for five projects in Israel, as global PV companies continue pouring resources into establishing beachheads in the Middle East in anticipation of strong future growth.

The nearly 123,000 JA polycrystalline modules, with about 290W of output apiece, will be installed across five projects in the Arava and Negev Deserts, for which Siemens is acting as engineering, procurement and construction contractor.

The projects are being developed by Israel-based Arava Power Company, which counts Siemens among its investors. JA’s shipments will extend through May.
