Belectric in first Australia project

A Belectric/Solar Frontier installation in Europe

Belectric, the world’s largest PV engineering, procurement and construction contractor, has nabbed planning permission for a 5MW array in Australia – its first project in the country.

The project will be built in Mildura, in the southeastern state of Victoria. The city saw its solar ambitions knocked back late last year when the 180MW Mallee Solar Park was rejected funding by the government agency overseeing Australia’s Solar Flagships programme.

The grid-connection agreement for the Mildura project was facilitated by Clean Technology Partners, a PV engineering consultancy based near Melbourne, with which Belectric has announced a framework agreement for subsequent Australia projects.
