TheOsaka-based company will supply roughly 400,000 thin-film modules and balanceof plant for the project, which will span 1.3 sq km in Lopburiprovince, north of Bangkok.

SharpSolar Maintenance Asia, a group subsidiary, will provide maintenance andoperations services.

Construction contractor Italian-ThaiDevelopment is scheduled to finish building the plant by the end of this year.

Last week, Sharp revealed plans to stop producing PV modules at itsfactory in Memphis, Tennessee, as part of ongoing efforts to restructure itsglobal solar business.
