Hybrid Service in 50MW Japan PV

Hybrid Service, a Japanese printing equipment supplier, this week revealed it has secured land and feed-in-tariff (FIT) clearance for a planned 50MW solar project north of Tokyo.

The Tokyo-based company has not selected a PV module supplier and has yet to determine when it will start construction of the plant. It hopes to bring the project online by April 2015, it said in an online statement last September.

Its renewables unit, Hybrid Energy, has secured a site spanning 1.1 million square meters in Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture, for roughly ¥990m ($9.7m).

It plans to sell the electricity to regional utility Tohoku Electric Power.

Earlier this week, Tokyo-based JFE Engineering revealed that it has started building a 26.2MW PV project on a former golf course in Sukagawa, a municipality just south of Koriyama.
