The projects include a 2MW pilotproject built on a landfill in Rietberg in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia state,which completed construction at the end of 2012.

Another three projects will beinstalled across southern England, including one on the Isle of Wight.

The solar plants are scheduled tostart operations by the end of March.

The UK is currently one of thefastest growing PV markets in Europe, with at least 800MW likely to beinstalled in the first quarter of 2013, Ben Hill, Trina Solar’s president forEurope, told Recharge in a recent interview.

Trina, one of the world’s largest solar modulemanufacturers, also announced an agreement with Silicon Valley-based QBotix, a companythat has designed a dual-axis tracking system driven by robotics to improve theoperation of solar power plants.
