TheKIX Megasolar project will place a total 72,000 of Solar Frontier’s copper indium selenium (CIS) thin-film panels next to a runway and on top of a cargo warehouse at Kansai International Airport.

The project is being developed bySF Solar Power, a joint venture between Solar Frontier and the state-owned Development Bank of Japan(DBJ), in conjunction with the airport’s operator.

The two installations willboast a combined annual output of about 12GWh said Solar Frontier, which will operate and maintain the plant.
