Hanergy’s acquisition of London-based Engensa, which has grown rapidly since being founded in 2009, was for an undisclosed amount.
Toby Darbyshire and Toby Ferenczi – Engensa’s co-founders, and previously the chief executive and chief operating officer, respectively – have been made co-chief executives of the newly named Hanergy Solar UK.
Among the few privately-held major Chinese PV manufacturers, Hanergy has exploded onto the global PV stage in recent years via its acquisitions of former Q-Cells subsidiary Solibro and then late last year California-based MiaSolé.
