The dispute relates to two 10-year wafer supply deals thatCanadian Solar signed with LDK in 2007 and 2008.

When market conditions changed and made such long-term dealsuneconomic, Canadian Solar terminated the agreements and demanded the return ofa $9.7m deposit it had put down with LDK against the future supplies.

The matter inevitably ended in legal proceedings, and inDecember last year LDK looked to have gained the upper hand when the ChinaInternational Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission ruled that CanadianSolar should compensate it for loss of profitability.

But
