Of the five groups looking at Wuxi Suntech, two are state-owned enterprises, while the other three are private companies, according to Reuters.
The Chinese government has reportedly ruled out a full liquidiation of Suntech, meaning the company and its globally-known brand are all but assured of survival in some form.
A Suntech spokesperson told Recharge it had no comment to make on the reports.
