The customer is Swinterton Builders, a large Western US constructioncompany, which is building the Westland Solar Farms project near the city ofFresno for Clēnera, an Arizona-based clean-energy investor.

The project’s size is a reflection of the futureutility-scale PV market in states like California, where analysts believe thatthe massive PV projects currently under construction will give way to smallerprojects, of a few dozen megawatts, which will allow utilities more flexibilityin meeting statewide Renewable Portfolio Standards.
