Jinko picks up 23MW California order
JinkoSolar has followed its recent return to profitability by notching up a 23MW order for a ground-mount project in California.
The customer is Swinterton Builders, a large Western US construction company, which is building the Westland Solar Farms project near the city of Fresno for Clēnera, an Arizona-based clean-energy investor.
The project’s size is a reflection of the future utility-scale PV market in states like California, where analysts believe that the massive PV projects currently under construction will give way to smaller projects, of a few dozen megawatts, which will allow utilities more flexibility in meeting statewide Renewable Portfolio Standards.
The order, comprising 300W modules produced by Jinko in China, will be fully met by the end of 2013.
Clēnera will sell the electricity to PG&E.
