Toshiba wins 13MW order at home
Toshiba will supply 13MW of PV panels for a project near Tokyo, says renewables developer Japan Asia Group.
JAG Energy, a unit of Tokyo-based Japan Asia Group, will start building the plant in February in Kanagawa prefecture, just outside the national capital.
The company expects to complete the project in March 2015. It did not reveal the terms of the deal.
Japan Asia Group plans to install 500MW of PV throughout the country by 2015, while possibly scaling back its European operations, it has been reported.
In March 2012, Japan Asia Group agreed to work with Japanese thin-film PV manufacturer Solar Frontier on at least 100MW of projects.
