Theannouncement does not affect Wuxi Suntech, Suntech’s principal manufacturing subsidiary,which is on the cusp of being acquired by Shunfeng Photovoltaic Technology.
Guolian –which is partially owned by the municipal government of Wuxi city, whereSuntech is based – would merge various businesses it owns – including PV arrays– into Suntech.
It may launch new joint ventures “to take advantage of[Suntech’s] global platform, distribution networks and other synergies”.
