Mitsubishi Electric will supply modules for the project on a 60-hectare site near the city of Awaji, west of Osaka, in Hyogo prefecture. Eurus expects to bring the plant on line in July 2015.
Last month, Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry selected Eurus to establish a special purpose company to build transmission lines near the city of Wakkanai, on the northern tip of the northern island of Hokkaido.
