Governor Deval Patrick has set an ambitious solar target for Massachusetts.

Solectria Renewables says it has won a contract from developer IESI to supply inverters for seven solar PV projects in Massachusetts totaling 22MW.

Financial terms of the deal were not made public.

The projects include one at the Concord landfill, another at the Grafton Water District and five others at commercial istes in Barre, Chester, Chicopee and Franklin.

Solectria is based in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

In April 2007, Governor Deval Patrick announced a goal of 250MW of installed solar power by 2017, which was met in first quarter 2013. He set a new 1.6GW target by 2020.
