Green Power EMC inks 20MW PPA

Renewable energy supplier Green Power EMC says it has reached a 25-year power purchase agreement with Silicon Ranch Corp. for the developer’s planned 20MW solar PV project in the US state of Georgia.

Financial terms of the deal were not made public.

Green Power EMC says construction of the Hazelhurst project will begin in the second half this year with commercial operation scheduled for late 2015. It will become one of the largest solar facilities in the state and provide electricity for about 3,000 homes.

The company selected Silicon Ranch after issuing a request for proposals for solar power late last year. The deal will increase Green Power EMC‘s renewable capacity from 32MW to about 52MW.

Green Power EMC supplies renewable energy to 38 Georgia Electric Membership Corporations (EMCs).
