Yingli scores 12MW Malaysia deal

Yingli’s Singapore unit has agreed to deliver 12MW of PV modules to Malaysian solar developer Gading Kencana.

It did not disclose the terms of the deal.

Yingli will supply 8MW of solar panels for a utility-scale plant in the city of Malacca and 4MW of modules for residential installations throughout Malaysia.

It has already delivered 30,000 modules for the 8MW project, which is situated on a plat of land spanning 14.5 acres. The project is expected to generate 11 million kWh of electricity per year.

Earlier this month, Amcorp Power commissioned a 10.25MW project in the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan. The project, which features Yingli panels, is the country’s largest solar project.

This week, Baoding-based Yingli posted a net loss of $55m in the first quarter of 2014, from a net loss of $128.2m in the preceding quarter.
