Trina to build 50MW Gansu array

Trina Solar announced the approval of a 50MW grid-connected PV project in Gansu province, giving its shares enough ballast to resist the negative sentiment that washed over the PV sector on 14 January.

Gansu, in northwest China,l has been a hotbed of renewables activity in recent years across both the solar and wind sectors.

Rival module maker JinkoSolar recently signed a 200MW development deal with Jinchuan Group, while last autumn Beijing approved 3GW of new wind capacity in the province, despite Gansu’s ongoing challenges with grid and curtailment issues.
